how is it even seen as a reputable website I can get a court injunction to have yelp remove it, since yelp is protected under unfair laws that makes suing YELP for defamation an impossible task. So I'm left with two options 1) give into extortion and pay the individual to remove their review 2) file a defamation suit against the reviewer and if I win, and thats a major IF. So by their logic only way to remove a negative review is to give into extortion, might as well make that their motto. so I asked if thats how they operate their business on YELP and what my options were, they asked to me to contact the reviewer. YELP said their review process is done automatically by an A.I. I called YELP and tried to explain how they were trying to extort my business when we refused to give them a free service to the point that we told the individual that we would call the police if they refused to pay. I emailed YELP about the issue and they said it doesn't break any terms of service.
the person literally left 1 review in their entire life on yelp. making false accusation of theft over 20 thousands of dollars, without any proof, pictures, police report, court procedure. there is a review on my business account for over a year now. Yelp "Glorified Gossip Column" "Give Into Extortion" NEVER HEARD FROM THEM AGAIN: My bank statements showed over 3k in charges for a page that did not bring me 1 customer. He said he would take care of it and look into all the past charges. same lady calls and asks me how its going.AT this point im livid. Said I WANTED TO QUIT and she said like the other girl she would take care of it. TWO MONTHS LATER and another lady calls me, said the old lady quit and she was being assigned to take over. And she also said she would cancel the sub for me. She could not tell me why something was wrong with it.
These were ALL known customers with old existing yelp accounts. I told her I had 18 yelp reviews that were all flagged and unable to be seen by anyone. She made the call, and I told her I wanted to cancel. She told me I could get a trial run to see how I liked it and then she would call to cancel or update at the end of the traial to see how I felt. She said the company does it automatically and that she was assigned to my account. Some lady cold called me out of the blue to talk about my yelp page.
